Amy O’Brien joined V2V in May of 2018, sharing her expertise as an innovator and leader in health care administration and physician practice management. Throughout her career of nearly twenty years, she has ushered organizations through major change while simultaneously increasing physician and employee engagement, as well as operating revenues. She helps organizations achieve coveted goals of increased operational revenue, systems effectiveness, patient satisfaction, and staff engagement.
During her first leadership role with Great River Health Systems, she founded their Integrated Delivery System (IDS), including introduction of new specialties, clinic locations, new physicians, and selection of NextGen physician practice management system. As Executive Director of the Medical Practice Division of Portneuf Medical Center, she led the first-ever employed physician and clinic expansion, resulting in an increase of operating revenue exceeding 40%.
In 2012, Amy returned to Great River as Vice President of Physician Practices, developing a new service line model for the employed practice group of more than 125 providers, complete with work flow improvements that greatly increased employee satisfaction and improved operational effectiveness.
Amy’s commitment to service is also reflected in her involvement with many community organizations. She helps lead well-recognized service clubs, such as the Kiwanis and the Girl Scouts, as well as her local United Methodist Church and the boards of the Homeless Shelter and the Community Foundation.
Amy grew up in Hammond, Louisiana and attended college at Southeastern Louisiana University as a student scholar athlete, playing basketball. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and later earned her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from Central Missouri State University. Amy and her husband, Joe, have three children and three grandchildren. They relish spending time with family, playing golf, and biking with friends.
