1st Topic: CARE2: Clarity and Accountability Result in Effective and Efficient Care
Delivering medical care services is complex; in the business of care delivery it also tends to get complicated without a culture of clarity and accountability. This engaging, funny, and uplifting presentation addresses the rationale and cost impact of investing in clarifying needs and expectations and then creating the accountabilities that allow everyone to be successful in their respective roles and responsibilities to the highest level of their certification and training.
This program will provide attendees the following learning objectives:
- Validate and navigate the “complexities” of delivering healthcare services
- Hear examples of how we create our own “complicated” systems and how to use the “stop it” button
- Leave with a “pep in your step” ready to implement tools to create a culture of clarity and accountability
2nd Topic: ADEPT™ Workflow
Making an orthopedic practice work requires constant attention to the way the work and processes are accomplished. Frequently new requirements are layered upon old processes, making complex work more complicated. Using the ADEPT™ workflow model, practice leaders can assess their practices and look for ways to reduce complication in Application, Distinction, Effectiveness, Profitability and Talent (ADEPT™). The margins in procedural medicine are eroding with an increased expectation that all physicians and practitioners will own responsibility for the cost of care across either an episode or a continuum of care. This workshop will look at the hidden costs in the way work does or does not get done, concepts that can quickly and effectively change complications and practical application of tools that will help you recognize where the opportunities reside. Debra (or Nancy) brings 30+ years of practical experience with a positive perspective in a challenging environment.
This program will provide attendees the following learning objectives:
- Explain the ADEPT™ workflow model for practical application
- Identify opportunities for workflow improvement in an orthopedic setting
- Acquire tools to assess and evaluate opportunities to improve or change workflow systems within the orthopedic setting.
